BST Locks Up Opening Timesheet
Try the following when having issues opening a timesheet in BST:
DELETING ISOLATED STORAGE FOLDERS
Start by closing out of BST10 and delete all the Isolated Storage folders located on your C: Drive (see file path below).
Delete the File Folders in the path below where ‘mtonelli’ = your User’s username:
After deleting all the File Folders in the Isolated Storage Directory, please re-access the Timesheet document and see if this resolves the error message.
RENAMING USER CONFIG FILE
It is possible that the User's BST10 Profile Config File was corrupted. Renaming the Config File will allow the SmartClient to recreate it.
Please have the User try closing the Smart Client and Rename the Config File on the User’s C: Drive (see the path below)? And then see if the Smart Client will open without error.
Let us know if that resolves your issue … Or if you need assistance, I will escalate this case to our System Administrators here.
NOTE: For the user.config file on your user’s PC’s C: drive … see the path below (NOTE: replace scarpenter with your user’s username) …
Or
NOTE: FOR THE ABOVE STEP: To see the folder above you may have to select the View Tab in File Explorer and check the box: “Hidden items” …
CLEAR USER PREFERENCES
***Clearing user preferences will remove any saved views and restrictions that the user has set up. Ensure the user is aware before trying this to fix the issue.***
Double-click BST and press F5 when you see the splash screen. Continue pressing F5 until you see the screen below. On this screen, click "Clear Preferences" and then click OK to close the window.
